Whiter teeth, the cheap + fizzy way

Cost: 60p – £2.60 (or £1 from Poundshops :D)

A further post on the wonders of baking soda. It is an excellent and thrifty way to whiten your teeth! There are a few ways you can use this cake ingredient to get nicer stain free teethies.

1) Rub it on. A lot.
So if you want to make a little bit of effort, you can mix baking soda with water in a little pot and literally rub it on with your finger after you brush your teeth everyday. This way you can pay special attention to any particular area.

2) Brush it on.
Using a paste again, stick it on the toothbrush and brush after using normal toothpaste (you should use this too to make sure you’re getting rid of bacteria etc)

3) Use a baking soda-based toothpaste.
If you don’t want the hassle of the above options, purchase the classic Arm & Hammer Advanced Whitening Toothpaste. It has baking soda in it so you can stop faffing around and make it easier for yourself.

The only downside to all of this baking soda madness is that it tastes weird. REALLY weird. If you get it on your tongue using the paste, or you brush your tongue with the toothpaste, you will taste an odd, sweet, fizziness. It gets more bearable after a while and the toothpaste above actually has a fresh mint taste too. So just deal with it alright? 🙂

N.B. Extra ways to boost the whiteness of your teeth are whitening mouthwash (Listerine etc – from the poundshop ofc) and whitening dental floss. This gets right in the middle of the teeth and is the place where most stains are.
